Don Young says his win was his 'largest majority' ever. It wasn't.
Rep. Don Young told reporters after the election Tuesday that his victory over Alyse Galvin was his biggest in the nearly half-century he has been running for Congress.
“This is a larger majority than I’ve ever gotten. I wish people would remember that,” he told reporters.
Young received 53.76 percent of the vote, to 45.83 percent for Galvin.
People should remember it was not his largest majority.
Young had higher percentages of the vote in 1976, 1978, 1980, 1982, 1984, 1986, 1988, 1994, 1996, 1998, 2000, 2002, 2004, 2006, 2010 and 2012.
