Lance Roberts on why he claims the Bible forbids women pastors; Adam existed before Eve

Lance Roberts, who is running for the Borough Assembly in Fairbanks, gave an explanation in 2012 of why he believes the Bible bans female pastors.

It was in response to a question about a passage in 1 Timothy that says, “A woman should learn in quietness and full submission. I do not permit a woman to teach or to assume authority over a man; she must be quiet.”

Roberts quoted a long passage from an essay that says women cannot serve as pastors and be true to the Bible. And he said the reason for the ban is that Adam came before Eve. He said the “scripture is the best interpreter of itself” and listed other passages that back up his opinion.
