Sullivan praises RFK Jr. and his crackpot claims: "I think it looks good'
Sen. Dan Sullivan, who celebrated his 60th birthday by being named Alaskan of the Week by his employees, has nothing negative to say about Donald Trump’s cabinet picks.
“Am I Alaskan of the Week?” he asked his employees on camera as they gave him a cake and his major award.
It seems that Sullivan spent about as much time pondering the miraculous selection of the Alaskan of the Week as he did the merits of Trump’s questionable picks for the top jobs in government.
They’re all good, according to Sullivan, who never questions the wisdom of Trump.
Retreating to his safe space on Fox News, home of Trump sycophants, Sullivan had nothing but praise for Trump’s cabinet picks, though he did claim that “I’ve never met Matt Gaetz.”
He acted as if he knows nothing about Gaetz or the ethics investigation that the House is trying to keep secret about the character tapped to be the next attorney general. He should not be a serious candidate, as Sen. Lisa Murkowski said.
Trump received just over 50 percent of the popular vote, according to the latest count, but Sullivan counts that as a landslide.
“Look, I think the American people voted for dramatic change,” Sullivan said.
Asked by Fox News host Neil Cavuto what he thought about Robert F. Kennedy Jr. serving as the head of Health and Human Services, Sullivan said RFK will bring change and Trump has a mandate for change, so RFK fits right in.
“President Trump was really transparent, probably the most transparent candidate ever on the campaign trail, talking about what he wanted to do. And I think this nominee, some of the other nominees, are gonna bring us that change. And I think so far, I think it looks good,” said Sullivan.
It was on June 22 that the “most transparent candidate ever” called Kennedy a fake.
“He’s a fake. He’s a total fake. You don’t wanna. He’s more liberal than Joe Biden and all of these Communists that work for him. Kennedy’s more liberal than all of them,” Trump said of Kennedy at a campaign rally in Philadelphia.
That was before Kennedy cut a deal with Trump. Trump now says the man he derided as a total fake will be free to “go wild on health.”
Transparent? Yes, but not in the way Sullivan claims.
Kennedy is a clear threat to public health does not belong in a position from which he can direct health policy for the nation. To keep on good terms with Trump, no politician can say that out loud.
Kennedy’s entire campaign was based on lies that vaccines cause autism and are dangerous, lies about antidepressants, lies about cancer, lies about fluoride, lies about AIDS, lies about COVID and more.
Sullivan says the president is “entitled to the cabinet he wants,” but the Senate will go through the confirmation process.
Sullivan said he is looking forward to meeting Kennedy and hearing all that RFK has to offer the nation.
“I think on the campaign trail, he and President Trump talked a lot about issues that a lot of Americans care about. You just didn’t really hear a lot about this movement on healthy Americans. This movement on chronic diseases. This is the kind of outside thinking that I think can kick bureaucracies into motion. So again, I think there’s a lot of notion about big change and we’re starting to see with some of these cabinet picks,” Sullivan said.
If Sullivan hasn’t heard about government efforts to help Americans become healthier and the never-ending fight against chronic disease, it’s only because he has failed to pay attention. Anyone who suggests this is “outside thinking” is not thinking.
Remember though, it was a change election, Sullivan says.
The change we can expect from Kennedy is an increase in deaths and disease because of his crackpot beliefs. He will create chaos and confusion. He will damage the nation. He will make health care work more difficult and less effective because professionals will go elsewhere.
The Senate needs to reject Kennedy.
