Begich the Third parrots Musk lies on Social Security fraud

Rep. Nick Begich the Third, who claims to be a technology and numbers whiz, is mechanically repeating the lies of co-presidents Elon Musk and Donald Trump.

One of the latest is Begich promoting the Musk/Trump lie that millions of people over 100 are collecting Social Security.

Musk/Trump, deliberately or not, misinterpreted the dataset and began shouting fraud before finding out what the numbers mean. Begich joined the chorus.

Begich, already running hard for reelection in 2026, is eager for the approval of the Musk/Trump regime and will spout nonsense from here to eternity in hopes of catching the eye of the Republican overlords.

Perhaps the freshman Congressman, who brags that he is a charter member of the Musk DOGE caucus, should do a little research before putting his gullibility on full display.

Nicholas The Third can start by reading this Inspector General’s report about the Social Security Administration from 2023.

“Approximately 18.4 million (98 percent) number holders are not currently receiving SSA payments and have not had earnings reported to SSA in the past 50 years. The fact that these individuals were age 100 or older, had no earnings in the past 50 years, and received no SSA payments indicates they are deceased,” the report found.

“We believe it likely SSA did not receive or record most of the 18.9 million individuals’ death information primarily because the individuals died decades ago—before the use of electronic death reporting,” the IG found.

“We acknowledge that almost none of the number holders discussed in the report currently receive SSA payments,” the IG said.

The IG said the Social Security Administration should clean up the database as there is a potential for abuse that should be stopped.

The Social Security Administration countered that it would cost $5.5 million to $9.7 million to change these records and be of limited benefit. No one was counting on the likes of Musk and Begich to distort the truth.

Spend millions to fix the records or not, Nicholas the Third should admit he was wrong when he said the Social Security Administration claims there are 20 million people in the U.S. over 100.

This should also lead Begich to question the reckless antics of Musk, but it won’t because money is what really determines the level of loyalty.

When Begich joined the DOGE caucus, he heaped praise on Musk, saying we should all be thankful for his guidance and wisdom.

Begich has praised the Musk attack on USAID, claiming it supports “grifting operations for the left,” though he didn’t say if the International Republican Institute, headed by Sen. Dan Sullivan and backed by USAID, is one of the “grifting operations for the left.”
